Woods made a miraculous recovery after a devastating 2021 car crash, playing through all four rounds of the 2022 Masters in April. While he finished plus-13 on the tourney, playing all four days was an accomplishment for Woods in its own right.

After Woods was seen taking in a practice round at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma in late April, it appears as though he’s all-systems-go for the next major tournament on the PGA calendar.

Here’s the latest on Woods’ status for the 2022 PGA Championship:

Is Tiger Woods playing in the PGA Championship 2022?

Woods was listed in the field for the PGA Championship as of May 9, meaning he is set to tee off when the second major championship of the year begins May 19, barring anything unforeseen.

It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise: Woods recently played Southern Hills Country Club to get comfortable with the course ahead of the tournament next week.

There’s more good news for Woods and his supporters: The golfer says he’s feeling in much better physical shape than he was leading into the Masters.

“I’ve gotten a lot stronger since the Masters,” Woods said (via Golfweek). “We went back to work on Tuesday (after the Masters). Monday was awful, I did nothing and Tuesday was leg day. So we went right back after it. Everything is better.”

To reaffirm that, Cary Cozby, club pro and director of golf at Southern Hills, said Woods and his swing are looking as good as ever after caddying for him during the practice round.

So, it sounds like Woods is ready to roll once again at the course where he won his fourth and most recent PGA Championship in 2007, the last time the event was held there.
